Join the opening leadership team of Avani Singapore as the hotel's second in command and play a pivotal role in delivering one of Singapore's most exciting new lifestyle hospitality destinations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the guest experience, build high-performing teams, and help bring a landmark hotel to life from day one.

At Avani, we create stylish and seamless experiences for modern travellers. We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations to lead the hotel's operation through pre-opening and beyond. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will plan, organise and direct the overall operation of the hotel in conjunction with him or her, hold accountability for Rooms, Food & Beverage and all operating departments, and take full responsibility for the hotel in the General Manager's absence.

What You'll Do

• Assist the General Manager in planning, organising and directing the overall operation of the hotel, and take full responsibility for the hotel in General Manager absence
• Lead operational pre-opening activities across the hotel, including team mobilization, operational readiness, SOP implementation, service standards preparation, and cross-functional department coordination
• Oversee Rooms, Food & Beverage and all operating departments, anticipating guest issues and driving service delivery across every guest touchpoint
• Support the annual budget and forecast for the operating departments, analyse the monthly P&L against business plan goals, and maximise revenue and profit while managing costs within budget
• Ensure compliance with corporate audit, brand standards, local health and safety, and other statutory regulations
• Conduct daily briefings with the operations team and communicate with the General Manager and Executive Committee on matters requiring their attention
• Recruit, train, coach and develop the operations management team, manage performance, and identify colleagues with potential
• Support positive owner relations through appropriate communication with the appointed Owner's representative, keeping the General Manager informed

What We're Looking For

• Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of operational management experience with a strong Rooms and / or Food & Beverage background, or at least 2 years in a similar capacity, within international hospitality brands
• High degree of professionalism, with a strong understanding of hotel operations and business acumen
• Pre-opening hotel experience is strongly preferred
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience owning budgets, profit performance and productivity for operating departments
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead both expatriate and local colleagues effectively
• Passion for guest service, quality, and operational excellence
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Previous leadership experience within Singapore hospitality would be advantageous
