The Opportunity

My clients hotel in Frankfurt is looking for an ambitious and creative Account Director for the USA and UK.

Your mission will be simple: identify new business opportunities, win exciting MICE clients, and help take our international sales performance to the next level.

You will be a confident sales hunter, a natural networker, and someone who enjoys making things happen.

Working as an individual contributor, you will take ownership of your markets while also acting as a coach and sparring partner for the Proactive Sales Team.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the international proactive sales strategy for the USA and UK, with a strong focus on acquiring new MICE clients.
• Identify, approach, and secure high-value accounts through outbound sales, networking, market research, and strategic relationship building.
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from first contact through to contract signature.
• Conduct sales visits, client presentations, negotiations, and account reviews as a senior sales hunter.
• Represent the hotel at international trade shows, client events, sales missions, and industry networking events across the USA and UK.
• Establish long-term partnerships with agencies, corporate clients, event organisers, and industry partners.
• Prepare creative proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and contracts in collaboration with the wider sales team.
• Coach and support the Proactive Sales Team by sharing best practices, supporting pipeline development, and encouraging strong outbound performance.
• Act as a mentor and strategic sparring partner without having direct managerial responsibility.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, travel patterns, and new business opportunities.
• Work closely with Revenue Management on pricing, forecasting, business development, and revenue optimisation.
• Collaborate with the relevant Global Sales Offices and internal hotel departments.
• Report directly to the Director of Sales and keep them informed of market developments, pipeline activity, and commercial results.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in sales, business, hospitality, tourism, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in proactive, outbound-focused sales, ideally within international hospitality, hotels, or the MICE sector.
• A proven track record of winning new business, developing sales pipelines, and closing high-value or enterprise-level contracts.
• Strong knowledge of the USA and UK markets, with an established network considered an advantage.
• The confidence and ability to coach, motivate, and inspire colleagues without direct management responsibility.
• Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills.
• Cultural awareness and the ability to build trust with clients and partners from different backgrounds.
• A confident, positive, and results-oriented approach.
• Excellent English skills; additional languages are an advantage.
• A willingness and enthusiasm to travel internationally.
