About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and innovative Food and Beverage Director to lead all culinary and service operations for a renowned hospitality group based in Stellenbosch. This senior leadership role involves overseeing multiple restaurants, bars, and event catering services, driving revenue growth, and maintaining exceptional quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and beverage management, coupled with proven leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences. You will be responsible for menu development, cost control, and staff management across all F&B outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for all food and beverage outlets to maximize profitability and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee menu engineering, recipe development, and sourcing of high-quality ingredients.
- Manage budgets, control costs (food, labor, beverage), and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Lead, train, and develop the F&B team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all operations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to enhance the F&B offerings and guest experience.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in Food and Beverage management, with a significant portion in a directorial role.
- Proven track record in driving revenue and managing costs in diverse F&B environments.
- Strong culinary knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of wine, spirits, and mixology.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with contract catering and event management is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in Stellenbosch.
