We are looking for a Chief Commercial Officer for an ambitious southeast England based golf and hospitality operator to help shape the long-term commercial strategy and play a central role in the continued expansion of the organisation.

Reporting into the CEO, this newly created post will take the lead on their commercial strategy, revenue generation and brand development for the growing portfolio. The post holder will have overarching responsibility for golf memberships, venue sales, retail, marketing, digital channels and strategic partnerships, while identifying new opportunities to accelerate sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach, inspire and drive the Head of Golf Sales, Head of Venue Sales, Group Retail Manager and Brand & Marketing Manager fostering a culture of commercial excellence, collaboration, innovation and customer focus.
• Lead golf sales and membership performance, optimising acquisition, retention, pricing, yield management, green fees, corporate golf and golf events.

• Drive venue sales performance across weddings, conferences, celebrations, corporate functions and private events, maximising conversion rates and profitability.
• Oversee retail and ancillary revenue strategies, including golf retail, equipment hire, practice facilities, merchandising and supplier relationships.
• Lead brand development, marketing and digital strategy, ensuring effective campaigns, customer engagement and a consistent brand experience across all venues.
• Identify, negotiate and manage strategic commercial partnerships, sponsorships, agencies and suppliers to maximise value, innovation and return on investment.
• Take ownership of commercial budgets, revenue forecasts and performance KPIs, using customer insight, CRM and data analytics to improve commercial results.
• Provide commercial leadership for acquisitions, mobilisation and integration of new venues, ensuring each site is successfully incorporated into group whilst maximising its commercial potential.

Person Specification

• Proven overarching experience in a senior commercial leadership position at Group Commercial, Commercial Director or Executive level within a multi-site leisure, hospitality, membership-based or sports organisation.
• Broad commercial expertise across sales, marketing, customer acquisition, pricing, yield management and revenue optimisation.
• Demonstrable track record of delivering significant revenue growth, developing commercial strategies and successfully introducing new income streams.
• Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, develop and manage high-performing sales, marketing and commercial teams.
• Excellent financial and analytical capabilities, with experience using CRM systems, customer insight and commercial performance data to make inform decisions.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills, with experience managing strategic partnerships, suppliers and external agencies.
• An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, lead change and balance commercial ambition with sustainable growth.
• Have your own transport and living within easy reach of the M25 for regular site visits.
