About the Role
Our client, a prominent upscale hotel and casino complex in Klerksdorp, North West , is seeking an experienced and strategic Food & Beverage Director. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's diverse food and beverage operations, including multiple restaurants, bars, banqueting, and in-room dining. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of culinary trends, operational efficiency, financial management, and exceptional guest service. You will be instrumental in driving profitability, enhancing the dining experience, and maintaining the highest standards of quality across all F&B outlets in Klerksdorp . This hybrid role allows for strategic planning from a remote location with essential on-site oversight of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all food and beverage operations to achieve profitability and quality standards.
- Develop and implement strategic business and marketing plans for all F&B outlets.
- Oversee menu development, pricing, and quality control in collaboration with chefs and F&B managers.
- Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring optimal cost control and revenue generation.
- Lead, train, and motivate F&B teams, fostering a positive and high-performance work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Enhance the guest experience by implementing service standards and training programs.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to keep the hotel's F&B offerings competitive.
- Collaborate with the hotel's General Manager and other department heads on overall hotel strategy and operations in North West .
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Food & Beverage management, with at least 3-5 years in a Director-level role within a large hotel or resort.
- Proven experience in managing multi-outlet F&B operations, including fine dining, casual dining, banqueting, and bars.
- Strong financial acumen with a demonstrated ability to manage budgets, P&Ls, and control costs effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of culinary trends, wine, and spirits.
- Experience with casino F&B operations is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in F&B management systems and software.
- Ability to manage both remote strategic planning and hands-on on-site operations effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
- Must be willing to travel between remote work and the Klerksdorp property as needed.
