The Cluster Director of Sales will lead all sales activities across the portfolio while establishing the market presence and successful launch of Caption by Hyatt Hillsboro. This position is responsible for identifying and cultivating revenue opportunities across corporate, group, SMERF, government, healthcare, sports, and other targeted market segments while maximizing market share and hotel profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute annual and quarterly sales plans for all three properties.
• Lead the pre-opening and ramp-up sales strategy for Caption by Hyatt Hillsboro, establishing brand awareness, market positioning, and key account acquisition.
• Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and demand drivers to identify revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with hotel General Managers and Revenue Management teams to align sales strategies with business objectives.
• Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.

Revenue Generation

• Achieve and exceed room revenue, ADR, occupancy, and market share goals for the hotel portfolio.
• Identify, solicit, negotiate, and close new business opportunities across key market segments.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients while expanding account penetration.
• Develop and implement creative sales promotions and local marketing initiatives.
• Actively pursue group business, extended stay opportunities, and local partnerships.

Account Management

• Build and maintain a robust portfolio of key accounts.
• Conduct regular client visits, presentations, networking events, and prospecting activities.
• Manage account production reviews and strategic business development plans.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and relationship management to maximize retention and repeat business.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities for Caption by Hyatt Hillsboro

• Establish and execute pre-opening sales and marketing timelines.
• Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, chambers, and industry partners.
• Develop awareness of the Caption by Hyatt brand within the Hillsboro and greater Portland market.
• Secure foundational corporate and group accounts prior to opening.
• Coordinate sales collateral, hotel presentations, site tours, and grand opening initiatives.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop sales team members as assigned.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and development planning.
• Ensure CRM, sales systems, and reporting standards are consistently maintained.

Reporting and Analysis

• Maintain accurate sales activity records and account management information.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
• Monitor booking pace, production trends, and market performance indicators.
• Present results and strategic recommendations to ownership and executive leadership.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years hotel sales leadership experience.
• Multi-property or cluster sales experience preferred.
• Experience with hotel openings or pre-opening sales efforts strongly preferred.
• Hyatt and/or Hilton brand experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Proven track record of achieving revenue and sales goals.
• Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
• Proficiency with hotel sales systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel regularly between portfolio properties and throughout the Portland metropolitan market.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel frequently between hotel locations.
• Ability to attend client meetings, networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally for sales materials and event setup.

This leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening market share, and ensuring the successful launch and ongoing performance of the hotel portfolio throughout the Portland metropolitan area.
