General Manager

Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort & Spa is seeking an inspiring, commercially driven and hands-on General Manager to lead one of Phuket’s leading family resorts into its next phase of growth.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader to oversee one of Phuket’s premier family resorts while leading its continued commercial success, operational excellence and ongoing refurbishment and enhancement projects.

The General Manager is responsible for the short and long-term planning, strategic direction and day-to-day management of all hotel operations to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction, employee engagement, owner confidence and financial performance. The successful candidate will recommend and execute the hotel’s business, commercial and marketing strategies while managing within approved budgets and objectives.

Reporting to the ownership and working closely with Accor and the Cluster General Manager, the successful candidate will lead the Executive Committee and all hotel teams while ensuring the resort continues to strengthen its market position, guest experience and long-term profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide strategic leadership across all areas of the resort while driving exceptional operational and financial performance.
• Develop and execute commercial strategies to maximise occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share and profitability.
• Lead all operational departments to deliver exceptional guest satisfaction, service quality and brand standards.
• Lead all refurbishment, renovation and CAPEX projects while maintaining business continuity and guest satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary liaison between the owners, Accor, the Cluster General Manager, architects, designers, consultants, contractors and project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Review and contribute to design concepts, layouts and operational flow to ensure projects are practical, commercially successful and operationally efficient.
• Build, coach and develop a high-performing Executive Committee and leadership team while creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Deliver memorable guest experiences with a strong focus on leisure and family travel.
• Drive revenue growth through close collaboration with Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing and Distribution teams.
• Maintain strong relationships with the owners, Accor, the Cluster General Manager, business partners and the local community.
• Ensure compliance with all Accor brand standards, company policies, health & safety requirements and local legislation.
• Promote innovation and continuously identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience and overall resort performance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager with an international hotel brand.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Hotel General Manager with a demonstrated record of delivering strong commercial and operational results.
• Proven experience leading a hotel through a major renovation, refurbishment, repositioning, conversion or pre-opening project is essential.
• Demonstrated success in managing a hotel through a major operational transformation while maintaining business continuity, guest satisfaction and financial performance.
• Proven experience working closely with hotel owners, Accor, asset managers, architects, designers, consultants, contractors and project management teams throughout renovation or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of hotel development, design, construction, engineering, fit-out, FF&E procurement and project delivery.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders to successfully deliver renovation projects on time, within budget and in accordance with brand standards.
• Experience with international hotel brands and brand conversion or repositioning projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, profitability, ADR, RevPAR and market share.
• Previous experience leading a family resort or leisure-focused destination resort is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of family travel, leisure resort operations and guest experience.
• Previous experience within the Phuket or Thailand hospitality market would be a distinct advantage.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire large multicultural teams while developing future leaders.
• Hands-on leadership style with a strong focus on operational excellence, team engagement and guest satisfaction.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Demonstrated resilience, adaptability and decisive leadership during periods of change.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Fluent in English; additional languages would be an advantage.
