Interim General Manager – Leisure Centre Nouveau

Interim General Manager – 6 month Contract East London

£60K + 37 days holiday (pro -rata) + Local Authority Pension Scheme

I am looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the operations of a well-established leisure centre in East London on an interim basis for up to 6 months. The brief is to provide stability, leadership and direction during this period. You will be working a 35-hr week, predominantly Monday to Friday 9am -5pm. The leisure centre has a membership base of 1500, a busy studio, a 4-court sports hall, 2 Astro pitches but no swimming pool. You will be supported by an assistant manager, 3 duty managers and around 15 team members and freelance instructors. Working at the heart of the community you will also play a pivotal role in ensuring the centre delivers a wide range of community wellness programs and initiatives.

As Interim General Manager, you will:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire your team, ensuring they feel supported, developed, and engaged.
• Ensure the operational standards and ways of working are consistently delivered
• Work to deliver the commercial targets across both memberships and bookings of the sports hall/pitches.
• Deliver and oversee a comprehensive sports development programme and wellness partnerships.
• Work with multiple stakeholders within the community and the wider business.
• Predominantly work a combination of shifts Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend day.

• A proven track record as a GM within the leisure management sector.
• Have a calm and measured approach and a deep understanding of leisure operations.
• Can rebuild confidence and bring teams together.
• Experience of change management would be beneficial.
• Have a patient and personable approach to working with multiple stakeholders.
• Are available to start no later than 1 October and who will commit for 6 months,

The position is offered on a pro rata basis , the annual salary is 60K with 37 days holiday per annum, you will be entitled to an exceptional range of benefits that include enrolment into the local authority pension scheme.
