OUR PURPOSE AND CULTURE
We are driven to create a future where people and place enrich one another. We are wholly committed to rooting ourselves more deeply in every place we are in while setting new benchmarks for positive impact.
As a pioneering collective with a common purpose, we curate extraordinary moments and honor the soul of every place along our journey. At Rosewood Hotel Group, we answer The Calling. Together, we Make the Place.
THE TEAM
As part of our Engineering team, you will lead a highly skilled group of engineering and maintenance professionals responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and seamless operation of our hotel’s physical assets and infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will work closely with the Executive Committee and departmental leaders across the property to enhance operational excellence, guest satisfaction, sustainability and asset value.
YOUR ROLE
As Director of Engineering, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all engineering and maintenance functions across the hotel. You will play a critical role in protecting and enhancing the property’s assets, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements, driving energy efficiency initiatives, and delivering a reliable and comfortable environment for guests and associates.
Working collaboratively with senior leadership, you will oversee maintenance operations, capital projects, preventive maintenance programs, and team development initiatives that support Rosewood’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences and long-term asset stewardship.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE
* Lead all engineering, maintenance and facility operations to ensure the safe, efficient and uninterrupted functioning of the hotel’s infrastructure and technical systems.
* Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital expenditure plans and engineering strategies, ensuring effective cost control and optimal asset performance.
* Drive preventive maintenance programs across guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants and all mechanical and electrical systems.
* Champion sustainability and energy management initiatives that reduce consumption, improve operational efficiency and support business profitability.
* Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, fire and life safety requirements, inspections and all relevant engineering and environmental standards.
* Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing engineering team through recruitment, coaching, training, succession planning and performance management.
* Oversee capital projects, renovations and asset enhancement initiatives in partnership with senior management, consultants and contractors.
* Build strong cross-functional relationships to support operational excellence, quickly resolve technical issues and continuously enhance the guest experience.
COULD THIS BE YOU?
* You bring substantial leadership experience within hotel engineering, facilities management or a comparable hospitality environment.
* You possess strong technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and building management systems.
* You have a proven ability to develop budgets, manage capital projects and implement effective cost-control strategies.
* You are knowledgeable in regulatory compliance, fire and life safety standards, environmental practices and risk management.
* You excel at leading, mentoring and developing diverse teams while fostering a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
* You are highly skilled at analyzing complex operational challenges, troubleshooting issues and implementing practical solutions.
* You communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels and build collaborative partnerships across departments and with external contractors.
* You are an organized and strategic leader who can balance multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional service standards and attention to detail.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
At Rosewood Hotel Group, your voice is heard – and valued. We’re a community that encourages associates to be themselves, not fit into a fixed culture, and this philosophy shines through in our commitments to reflect and honor the history, culture and geography of our destinations. We’re not only committed to building and nurturing genuine, long-lasting relationships but to transforming them – and our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy helps put these principles into practice.
