Food and Beverage Director

About the Role

Our client, a premier hotel located in the heart of Upington, Northern Cape , is seeking an experienced and innovative Food and Beverage Director. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's food and beverage operations, including multiple restaurants, bars, banqueting, and room service. The successful candidate will be passionate about culinary excellence, exceptional service, and driving profitability within the F&B department. You will lead a diverse team, develop exciting menus, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards. This is a key position that requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational background and a commitment to creating outstanding dining experiences for guests in the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily F&B operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and exceptional guest service.
• Develop and manage menus, pricing strategies, and special promotions for all F&B outlets.
• Manage F&B staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Control F&B costs, including inventory management, procurement, and waste reduction.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to increase F&B revenue and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and culinary quality.
• Manage banqueting and events, ensuring successful execution of catered functions.
• Monitor industry trends and implement best practices to enhance the F&B offering.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Food and Beverage management, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple F&B outlets and driving revenue growth.
• Strong culinary knowledge and understanding of menu engineering and costing.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of F&B operations, including inventory control, purchasing, and cost management.
• Familiarity with hotel management systems and F&B software.
• Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene is essential.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in the Northern Cape region is advantageous but not required.
